When and Where

The Jurisdictional Conclave, Congress and Olympics will be held from May 19 (Friday) to 21 (Sunday), 2006. Except for the Visayas DeMolay Olympics which will be held on May 20 (Saturday) at the San Julio Realty, Inc. Sports Complex, all other activities will be held at the Consuelo Zobel Alger Community Center, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

The registration fee of the event costs PHP1,200.00 per participant (Active DeMolays, Senior DeMolays, Sisters and Master Masons) to cover food and accommodation at the Consuelo Zobel Alger Community Center.

What to Look Forward to

In keeping with the goal of the Order of all-around youth development, the three-day Conclave, Congress and Olympics will include activities like DeMolay Olympics, seminars and workshops, Ritual Competition, socials and fellowship, and the session of the Jurisdictional Congress. A detailed schedule of the event is enclosed in this information packet.

Sessions

The activity aims to enhance the knowledge of the delegates regarding on how to be a better DeMolay and to update them on current information.

Jurisdictional DeMolay Congress

Aside from the election of the next Jurisdictional Master Councilor for Visayas; this session will include the reports of the chapters, passing and approval of bills (congress by-laws), etc. it is hoped that through this exercise in participatory governance, the delegates will become more active in the affairs of the Jurisdictional Congress.

Guidelines for the Conclave, Congress and Olympics

In the conduct of the three day Conclave, Congress and Olympics; the delegates are expected adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Punctuality. Please come on time at all activities of the Congress, Conclave and Olympics. Remember that courtesy is one of the virtues of the Order. Let us display this virtue by being considerate of the other delegate’s time.
2. Dress Code. Delegates are expected to attend the function dressed appropriately.
a. Ceremonials and Congress Session requires formal attire.
b. Seminar sessions and workshops, casual wear is recommended.
c. Participants in the DeMolay Olympics Games are required to dress appropriately in their sportswear.

3. Cleanliness and Order. Delegates are requested to keep the Conclave and Olympics site clean and in order.

Getting to San Carlos

Sea Travel

From Cebu , the Fastcraft & A. S. Express - the local hydrofoil transportation company- provides the quickest service, about a 35 minutes trip via Toledo City. There are also two boats (Lite Ferries and Melrivic) that runs 2-hour trips to San Carlos.

Land Travel

From Cebu, Ceres Bus Lines services the route between Cebu and San Carlos on an air-conditioned bus, for about P90, using the Lite ferry. V-HIRE services the route between Cebu and Toledo City for about P70.

From Bacolod, San Carlos City can be reached in about three hours via the coastal highway by private car and approximately three hours and a half by public utility vehicles.  It is about two hours from Bacolod via the Negros translink highway.

From Dumaguete, San Carlos City can be reached in about four hours and a half by public utility vehicles.
