Walking the busy streets of Cebu without the thought of going home to San Carlos for work after buying materials for a wedding, I took the chance to look at Cebu in a different conscious mind. I have always been fascinated by the architectureof Cebu and like most of the buildings in downtown Cebu, this one talks about its time and prestige yet left to rot and die.
The strong cultural influence of the Spain has rooted in the Philippines and especially in Cebu where the Magellan's Cross holds the landmark of the province. In this trip I made the last week, we happen to pass by a crossroad and it was called "Postura".
SIDE TRIP "The Parochial Tour and the Second Utanon Festival"
February started with a trip to Cebu City, it was a travel that filled our(me, Allan and Bhoy) hungry soul.
"Two legends in one exhibition!"  I never felt so filled that I want to breathe and take myself back to reality. I am a big fan of The Philippine Fashion Icon Patis Tesoro for her creative use of different materials and fabrics and her love for the Filipino dress, she has been an inspiration since the first time I opened her book that I bought more than a decade ago and still she always fascinates me. My fascination was doubled as I scrutinized the detailed artworks of oil by Romulo Galicano, who was like Patis, a legendary artist who loves details. Looking at the portrait paintings of Galicano with Patis' gowns and barongs, I felt that I became an ordinary individual who has seen a meteor rain for the first time.

"Fascination" is slowly becoming my "word of the month". With my camera, we went to Dalaguete, a two hour bus ride from Cebu, for their town fiesta. The esssence of celebrating the fiesta is always about thanksgiving and this is why they call their fiesta as the "Utanon Festival" or the Fiesta of Vegetables. Dalajuete is known for their huge supply of vegetables in the Cebu market.
Cebu is indeed a tourist destination: a province known for the Sinulog Festival, beautiful beaches and the majestic churches which I have taken some time to visit.
