RULES & MECHANICS
1. This contest is open to all amateur & professional artists, 18 years old and above.
2. Each participant is required to submit the following:
a) Entry form
b) Resume/ Bio-data
c) A colored sketch of his creation showing the front and back designs. The sketch must be done in an 8"x10" size paper (any kind of paper will do as long as the said dimension is followed). Important: This colored sketch must not bear any mark or description and identification of the artist.
d) A comprehensive description of the design---the concept, inspiration, the relevance of the design to the theme, and the title and artist of the music to be used. Important: This page must also not bear any mark or description and identification of the artist
3. "Se7en" is the theme of this year's contest. The story is about man and his innermost nature, his flaws and his attributes. The seven virtues, the seven deadly sins, the seven mysteries, the seven dragons of good luck,: the list is endless as we give the number seven its importance to man. This is the story.
4. The body painting design must cover the entire body. The design must be original and has not been used in other contests.
5. Headdresses, handheld props and other paraphernalia are highly required depending on the character chosen.
6. Deadline of Submission of Entries is October 21, 2009 @ all the designated registration offices.
7. A screening committee will be formed to choose the fourteen (14) finalists who will present their entries on the Gala Night on November 3, 2009 in the City Auditorium.
8. The entries will be judged basing on the originality of concept and design, the relevance of the concept to the theme, and the presentation of the design.
9. The fourteen finalists will be informed through telephone and email on October 22, 2009.
10. A storyline has been drafted for the presentation; the fourteen successful artists will be drawing slots as to what character of the story he/she is going to create. The characters will be drawn by lots by the artists, a representative will take the place for those out of town artists.
11. The organizers will provide the model, who must at least be 18 years of age.
12. The participant must provide his or her own painting materials----latex, acrylic and other water based paints. The artist must try the different paints to be used beforehand for allergic reactions.
13. The painting will start at 1:00 pm and would end at exactly 5pm. The artist can bring one (1) assistant to help him/her with the execution. The assistant' must also register. Only the artist, his assistant & model are allowed on the designated area. If the artist will be helped by any unregistered individual, he will be disqualified. A crew in uniform will be tasked to attend to the needs o the artists and models.
14. A preliminary judging will be conducted during and after the on-the-spot painting to judge the artworks by the details.
15. Awards to be vied by the artists will be Grand Winner, 2nd Prize and Third Prize. Prizes will be P8,000, P5,000, and P3,000 respectively plus trophies
16. Models will be awarded with the Best Model AWARD of P5,000.00 Cash plus Trophy.
17. All participating artists will receive certificates of participation, non winning artists will receive P1,000.00 consolation prize
18. The TOP THREE WINNERS are required to present their winning entries at the City Auditorium during the ritual presentation of the Pintaflores Streetdancing contest on November 5, 2009.
19. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to disqualify the finalist who cannot meet the requirements and deadlines set by the committee.
20. The judges' decision is final and irrevocable.
