La Fortuna Nature & Wildlife Lagoon
Fortuna, Buluangan
Is a 10.4
hectare tranquil santuary for nature lovers. Its five
hectare man-made lagoon is seven meters deep and serves
as a grow-out pond for taiwan and tilapia
fishes. The surrounding area is planted with
various fruit trees such as Santol, Guyabano, Duhat,
Mango, Atis, Jackfruit, Mansinitas, etc. Hardwood Trees
can also be found. Domesticated animals roam freely such
as ducks, sheeps, goats, horses and others.
It is owned by the Ledesmas of Hacienda Fortuna in
Barangay Buluangan. Request to enter the private
property needed.
About 12 kms.
from the City Proper.

Sipaway
Island in San Carlos City is otherwise known in the
official maps as "Refugio Island". Sipaway
Island is essentially a white-sand beach coral island
situated some 3.5 kilometers off the eastern coast of
San Carlos City. Sipaway is about seven kilometers in
length and 1.5 kilometers wide, at the maximum. The
island features a couple of government-owned swimming
pools where swimming is free of charge.

its beauty & amenities. Erected on a two (2) hectare

of Fr. Pedro Chivite, OAR. Present Bishop is Msgr. Jose
Fuerte Advincula, DD. It became a Diocese on February
10, 1988 covering the Municipality of Manapla, Negros
Occidental to La Libertad of Negros Oriental.
Our Lady of Lourdes Sacred Grotto
Hacienda Sta. Ana, Rizal
Some two
kilometers west of San Carlos City is the sacred grotto
of our Lady of Lourdes. The grotto was discovered by
Atty. Silverio Eusebio in a part of his farm and where
he placed a small statue of the Blessed Mother. Later in
the early part of 1970s, several incidents occurred
which residents attributed to the Lady of Lourdes.
Situated on
top of a mountain in Sitio Tongo, Barangay Palampas
about 6.5 kilometers from the city proper. It features
the station of the cross on the way going up & a shrine,
a big white Holy Cross & Statue of the Blessed Mother
over-looking the scenic areas of the city.
